Everyday Make Up

These products form the base of my make up bag and all of them would have to come with me if I were to be stranded on a desert island (if only-no responsbilities, sun, the beach…and my make up. Sounds like the dream!).

Actually, cue horrific make up story (kind of funny now), find it below this post, as it’s a long one! *

I aim for my daily look to be flawless skin, a simple eye and a nude lip.

Glossier Priming Moisturiser-All over my face to keep it hydrated all day.

NARS radiant creamy concealer in Custard-I use this under my eyes and on blemishes. This product has great coverage and doesn’t crease.

MAC studio fix foundation NW20-Applied all over. I love the full coverage of this foundation without it being cakey.

Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Powder in Medium-I powder this all over my face to set my make up. It de-shines and keeps my make up looking fresh.

Benefit Hoola bronzer-The perfect shade! It is so lightweight and blends flawlessly. I have recently changed to this from Soleil Tan De Chanel, which is a cream bronzer, which is a great product, but I found it annoying to apply (I’m lazy).

BECCA shimmering skin perfector (highlighter) in Champagne Pop-One word: DREAMY. I use this on my inner eyes, on my brow bone and cheekbones.

Blink brow pencil in Indian chocolate OR Anastasia dipbrow in Chocolate-I use the brow pencil for an everyday, defined look and the Anastasia for evenings or occasions to get a more prominent look. I’ve also just brought Boy Brow from Glossier in Brown (another addiction-eyebrow products).

MAC brushstroke eyeliner-The smoothest glide and it stays all day and night.

Benefit they’re real mascara -This gives lashes everything-length, volume and lift.

MAC matte lipstick in Honeylove-The ULTIMATE nude lip. I also adore Velvet Teddy and Yash.

Mac studio fix foundation is my absolute go-to product since I was probably 18. However, I’m feeling a gravitational pull towards Charlotte Tilbury’s magic foundation. Does anyone use this product and recommend it? I would love to hear from you! I just feel a bit-if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!

I’ve ordered Iconic illuminator drops as I would like to try something new, but they need to be mind blowing to change my loyalty from champagne pop!

* Horrible story cue:

A few months ago, my husband got a spontaneous night off work so we decided to go out for dinner. He was coming to meet me from work, so brought in my make up bag (and my lipstick make up bag-that’s a make up bag full of lipstick, as I have too many), change of clothes and change of shoes in his backpack. Fast forward a few hours and a few drinks to our journey home on the tube. We changed tube and then I realize that Jimmy doesn’t have his backpack. I ask him where it is, for the sudden look horror of realization that he had forgotten his backpack somewhere with all of his wife’s stuff in to flood his face. We get off at the next tube stop, he phones the restaurant while I’m messaging the girls on whatsapp in a frenzy of fearing the worst: ALL OF MY MAKE UP GONE. How much was it going to cost to replace it? How could I go to work the next day without even an eyebrow pencil? Was I ever not going to be annoyed at Jimmy for committing the ultimate forgetfulness? OMG! The restaurant tells Jimmy they don’t have it. We ask the staff on the tube-nothing. Leaving the tube without my things, I started crying (devastated doesn’t cover it) and tell Jimmy that I was literally going to order all of my make up, lipsticks, trainers etc on his card when we arrived home (he was also nearly in tears at how real and expensive his mistake was about to be). In a last resolve, he calls the restaurant again just in case. THEY HAD IT! We then went for a large drink to calm down and we lived happily ever after.
